Frogs

Club for active people “Frogs” is a young non-profit, non-governmental organization situated in a town of 10'000 inhabitants called Iecava. It was founded with an aim to popularize active lifestyle, prevent social exclusion, educate its members and people around and to have nice time together. Organization is based on voluntary work and everybody is welcomed to join despite nationality, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion or any other discriminating factors.

The main target group of the organization are children (8-12 years), youngsters (13-18 years) and young adults (18-25 years), but that does not exclude other age categories and there are several projects organised by the organization that are suitable for everybody.

As everybody in the organization is encouraged to implement his/her own ideas, projects can be very different from each other, for example activities for young mothers and small children (theatre played by mothers to children), “Young drivers training” (theoretical and practical lessons for getting bicycle driving license at the age of 12) or cultural heritage activities (to bring to life Latvian traditions). But what is more important all activities organised by and to youngsters are based on non-formal education and peer-to-peer education and young members starting as learners become teachers.

Organization is opened to cooperate, share best practise examples and to organize and participate in different trainings, seminars, conferences and youth exchanges in local, national and international level.
